House Fly Invasion! & Toos-day Random Babblings

August 26, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: home, life | Leave a Comment

Our house has been infested by FLIES!! I have no clue where they are coming from either. DH managed to trap about 20…YES, 20!…in a window and closed it. Now to kill the little buggars. We need to find where they are coming from. I just don’t get it.

I’m sitting here and there’s a fly…or two…or more, who knows…flying circles around my head. How annoying is that?? Ugh…we need to get rid of these DAM flies!

I got a package today! At work I won an award so I got to pick a prize. Our pans are HORRIBLE. So i picked a set of 2 T-Fal frying pans and they came today! I love getting packages!

The hubbs said something that cracked me up today. I forget what we were talking about, but he was saying that I am a certain kind of way and I disagreed…he said, “Have you met yourself”…omg I about lost it!!! My saying is “Have you met (whoever)”…Like when my sister’s man was saying how wonderful she is…I was like, Have you met her? hehe…so dh just comes out with that…it was too funny. I seriously laughed out loud.

Laundry Monday

August 25, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: home | Leave a Comment

Today is laundry day for me. I think when I’m picking through a huge pile of dirty clothes on the ground in my room to see where my work pants are (they were on the hamper, btw) that it’s time to do laundry.

When we lived in the apartments, I got into the habit of “living” in my loungewear and washing clothes when we had the money and/or when my clothes were so nasty that I had no choice! Gross, I know…but times were hard and we didn’t always have money to do laundry and the machines weren’t great. Now we have our own washer and dryer, and actually we have had our own since living with my sister…so like 2 houses ago. I still don’t do laundry every week, but as needed. The hubbs does some of my laundry when he does his, which is just about daily….it’s the OCD.

Tonight we BBQ’d some sausages for dinner and ate outside on the deck. We had Razzle out there wearing a harness and a lead that was tied to the table. He really enjoys it outside and often tries to escape, so we sometimes take him out there. Well tonight that little shit went under the deck and got out of the harness!!! AHH!! So then it was like a wild goose chase to get him. He doesn’t have any claws and isn’t wearing a tag or collar!!! Ugh, we cannot leave him out there and we live WAY too close to a really busy intersection to not find him when he gets away from us like that! We were finally able to corner him behind the garage and we promptly put him back in the house. No more outside for him for a long while!!

Here are a few pictures of Razzle outside. My husband decided to “edge” the backyard and part of the front by hand today, so that’s the mess in the yard. And Onyx was on the other side of the stairs enjoying a nice marrow bone, that’s what Razzle is checking out when he’s on the stairs.

When he got out of the harness, my husband and I were joking that it was almost like he went under the deck a little bit to plan his escape. He’s a smart kitty and he does have thumbs (polydactyl) so I wouldn’t put it past him! LOL

Right now at work I’m listening to “Rogue” by Danielle Steele. I just started it today and it’s ok…nothing special yet. I am about to check it out on Amazon and get a plot overview and see what it’s all about. lol

A Watched Mailbox Never Delivers

July 12, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: home, life | Leave a Comment

My husband and I are waiting for our stimulus check. My husband is a lucky “99” person, so we’re last on the list. And we’re also getting a paper check. We got the letter that said it would be here by the 11th…and well, it’s the 12th and still no check.

Isn’t that the way though? When you REALLY need it and are looking and waiting for it, it comes late? Dam Murphy!

Hopefully, hopefully hopefully (!!!) it will be here on Monday.

The babies (dogs) are out of their morning food and we’re improvising…which is ok, but not great. This morning Onyx had 3 oz of honest kitchen (thank GOD for the samples we got in the mail!!!!) and then I cut some pieces off of a chicken back to get her to 5 oz. Topaz had some ground hamburger (so much for sloppy joes!) and the rest of the chicken back I cut up for Onyx. At least we still have 3 containers of chicken backs. If the check’s not here by Monday I will thaw out the chicken we have in the freezer…it’s freezerburned, but they probably won’t know the difference. It would be nice if I had a grinder.

Now to some more random topics:

I’m listening to “Marley & Me” at work right now. I’ve run out of other things and saved this one for last. Actually, I tried to listen to it before I listened to “It Had To Be You” by Susan Elizabeth Phillips but I couldn’t do it. I read “Marley & Me” and I loved it. I didn’t read it at the most appropriate time in my life (we had just lost a cat) but it is a wonderful book. On audio however, …yikes! The author, John Grogan, reads the book and let me stress again…I LOVE the book…but his voice is whiny and I don’t know…it’s just really painful to listen to. But I’m out of other books to listen to, so “Marley & Me” it is!

I check out a few different blogs (located on the right side) for scrapbook freebies. I’m so excited to be able to find a template and see in my head what i can do with it…now that i know how to use templates in photoshop. I found this one here and instantly thought of my sister who’s getting married in October. Then I found the most perfectest freebie kits to use (i need to find the link for the blog I found them on)! The whole page kind of came together…which is exciting. I love to use my creative side. It relaxes me.

I’m going to end this with my scrapbook kit wish list. These are some kits that I’ve been admiring lately…one of these days I’ll get them! I see kits everyday that I’d love to buy, but these are some that I keep going back to!!
