Audio Books

April 18, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: bookworm | Leave a Comment

My supervisor has brought me in all of these audio books for me to listen to at work. I love listening to them, it’s like mindless chatter. A few have been steamy romance novels, some have been good drama types and most have been the number books by Janet Evanovich.

They are excellent! Fast paced, funny, mysterious, sexy…but not too overbearing. I really have been enjoying them.

I really think it has to do with who’s also reading the books because the woman reading them is AWESOME! She does voices and it really reminds me of the Harry Potter books on CD…the guy who reads them makes them as wonderful as they are on CD/tape.

The only problem with listening to multiple books…and we’re talking about 6 books…with the same characters is that now I’ve been almost thinking they’re real people. Like a TV show kind of…and not that I’m so far out there than I think fiction is reality… I know better, but it’s like I KNOW these characters that i almost think I could run into Stephanie Plum or Morelli her cop boyfriend on the streets. Crazy, I know. I’ve been listening to them just a little too much.

But they are really good if you’re into that kind of thing.

I think when I finish the one I’m on now, I’ll switch to something else. It’s time.

Taking Topaz to the Vet

April 15, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: k9epilepsy, zoo | Leave a Comment

The husband’s check was much huger than expected so we ended up with some extra moolah this pay period. Which is always a good thing.

I’ve been worried for a while now that Topaz, the Aussie mix and Epileptic puppa, is in pain…so we’re going to cart him off to the vet tonight. The vet we normally see, and the one that I prefer to see him is in tonight and won’t be back until Sunday…so I figured why wait?

I am hoping that x-rays are not needed and that she can give us some medication or a shot or something and maybe we can add a supplement or something…but we do have money, so if more things are needed we’re covered.

I wish the husband made this much money all the time. We’d never have to worry about money and would be able to do those extra things that we want to do.

He’s been doing much better as far as his health goes, and he’s been almost working full time now. I don’t know what he needed to get this going, maybe it was the “release” from his 9-5 gig that he was doing…because after he spent some time relaxing and getting over that drama…he hit the ground running and has picked up a lot of extra hours. Which has just been glorious!

I’m glad that the drama is over too…good riddance!

One of the cats, Alex, needs to go to the vet too. He’s got some sores on the back of his hind legs and his breathing is kind of wheezy. He will wait till next pay…or, maybe Thursday…depends on how much this Puppa visit is.

Caffeinated Carbonated Goodness & Other Stuffs

April 13, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: k9epilepsy, life, zoo | Leave a Comment

I am a Mt. Dew-oholic. My favorite is the Live Wire (orange) flavor. It’s basically my coffee. I could, and have, drink a whole 2 liter in a day by myself. This all being said…a 2 liter in this house doesn’t last very long. If you don’t get a glass right away, it will be gone by the time you go try to get some. This is try of all pop really.

So why does the husband ask where the 2 liter is and when I say it’s gone he says, “wow”? Is he new? LOL He lives here, he knows of my love of the mt dew and all carbonated beverages. Get a grip…geez.

Sometimes we’ll both get our own 2 liter…this works out better.

Sometimes I wish I drank coffee, then I could just drink that for caffeine…or hook me up to a caffeine drip or something…haha

Other stuffs…The dog has been pacing really bad. I think a vet visit is necessary. I probably need to go with my gut because I really think he’s in pain. He paces all the time…in this room, in the dining room, into his cage…it’s really hard to watch sometimes. I don’t know if it’s the meds or if he’s in pain. I wish they could talk to us and let us know!! I’ll probably call the vet on Monday and see if we should bring him in.

We also need to bring one of the cats in…Alex. He’s got sores on the backs of both of his legs and he’s never sounded good breathing. He like has a weeze, or something. I am not sure…but it’s not always good.

Gosh this is all so random!!

I made a huge list of things that I want to get done. Cleaning type things, computer things…stuff for the APSFA. I am not sure how much of it I will actually get done. I need to do some things during the week too. Last week was just awful and I was so tired everyday when I got home from work. Of course, I didn’t once go to bed early like I really needed to. And even today, I got up at like 9:30…dumb. I went to bed fairly early though.

Well I should end this rambling and get to what I need to do.
