Dog Starved in the Name of Art…DISGUSTING!!

April 11, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: causes | Leave a Comment

This is just horrible and I was physically sick when I saw it. The page is in a different language and the pictures are quite shocking and horrible to see.

http://elperritovive.blogspot.com/

What I find completely odd is that “El Perrito Vive” translates to “The Dog Lives”…which sadly, no it doesn’t. This is sick and just plain wrong.

I got this from a dog forum I am a member of.

To Sign a petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/13031953/petition.html

Here is information from the petition. Also, he has now been brought up ..s in Costa Rica.

On 2007 Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, a fake artist, took a street dog, he tied him with a short rope to a wall of an art gallery and he let him die slowly of starvation and thirst, as “installation”.

During the several days , the author of this horrible cruelty and the visitors of this Art Gallery (shame on them) they remain careless witnesses in front of the agony of the poor animal, until at last he died of starving and thirst, for sure after spending a painful, absurd, suffering.
That’s not all: the prestigious CentroAmerican Biennial of Art decided, (shame on them) that the brutality that has been made by this person was art, and on this incomprehensible way Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat the cruel “installation” at the next Biennial on 2008.

The bottom text after all the dog pictures translates (via Google) to the following:

According knew the dog died the next day for lack of food. During the inauguration knew that the dog was chased in the afternoon between the houses of cardboard and aluminum of a neighborhood of Managua with the name of a saint that Habakkuk who was unable to specify at the time. 5 children of those who helped in the capture of 10 cordobas received bonuses for their cooperation. During the exhibition some people called for the release of the dog, which he refuses artist. The name of the dog was (was) Nativity, and I leave him to die of hunger in full view of everyone, as if the death of a poor dog was a shameless media show in which no one does nothing but applaud or look puzzled.

Definitely we are what we read: pure croquettes.

In the place that the dog was exposed only have a metal cable and a rope. The dog was extremely ill, renqueaba and did not want to eat anyway, so in a natural environment would have died anyway, but so are all the poor dogs: sooner or later they die or are killed.

Hypocrites…

April 9, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: causes | Leave a Comment

hy·poc·ri·s

[hi-pok-ruh-see] Pronunciation Key – Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun, plural -sies.

1. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.
2. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.
3. an act or instance of hypocrisy.

—Synonyms 1. See deceit.

There’s one thing that I cannot stand…a religious hypocrite.

This is a person who preaches God’s word and the thumps the bible and is all “have a blessed day” and all that…but they don’t practice what they preach and half the crap that comes out of there mouth is hatred and vile.

Those kind of people…I just cannot stand them.

Don’t get me wrong. I was raised Catholic. I believe in God and all that. While I’m not really a practicing Catholic, I still consider myself to be Catholic. I pray, I believe, I try to be a good person. But I’m not out there trying to convert people or Jesus them up.

It boggles my mind that there are people who claim to be Christians and are all, “God bless this, and Father God that” are also people who are the most racist, judgmental, and hateful people on this planet!

Doesn’t the bible teach that God loves everyone? Aren’t we made in HIS image?

Or am I reading the wrong bible?

Isn’t there a song that goes…

“Jesus loves the little children, all the little children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.”

Maybe they didn’t learn that as children. Maybe “their” religion teaches that God only loves the “children” who look like them…are the same color as them…same size as them.

Doesn’t this seem ridiculous and just plain ignorant?

I read something recently online that was written by a woman who claims she is a Christian. She’s one of “those” types too. She wrote how she thinks that animal “A” is only good for being in dog food. She wrote this on a “Christian” forum and TO someone who has lived with, trained and LOVES animal “A” she was speaking about. Seems as though animal “A” killed animal “B”, which she had as a pet and so she now hates animal “A” and thinks they’re only good for being in dog food.

Yeah…there’s a model Christian for you. Let’s hate the entire animal “A” species because it killed animal “B”. Guess there’s no room for forgiveness. Guess we should hate. That’s real Christian like. (insert eyeroll here).

Smells like….Manure?

April 7, 2008 | By Heidi | Filed Under: home | Leave a Comment

My husband and I were finishing dinner and watching tv and every time Topaz, one of the dogs, walked by we got this overwhelming manure smell. And it wasn’t like shit…like a fart or dog poop or something, it was like farm manure.

We could not figure it out. What the heck was that smell, and where was it coming from? We had a window open, so we closed it and it didn’t get any better.

We finally realized it was the dog’s breath…but omg, what did he get into that smelled like that??? I checked the backyard to see if I can tell if he’s been eating his own poop, or if some kind of animal (squirrel, bird…rat, even) was dead in our yard and he ate that…but nothing.

I fed him a little chicken back to see if that would help with the breath. I don’t think it completely helped, but it was MUCH better than it was originally.

When I went to bed I still smelled the manure smell. I thought that maybe it was his breath still, because he was sleeping in the room with me. Then I thought maybe this smell is stuck in my nose…like if you smell something so much then you smell it even when it’s not there.

I ignored it and went to sleep. In the morning, I STILL smelled this manure smell…omg, are we downwind of a farm or something?? WHAT IS GOING ON???

I thought maybe it was me…but I was freshly showered and shouldn’t smell like a farm. I worried about it all day, but didn’t smell it anymore.

While I work I thought about what the heck was going on, but when I got home I didn’t smell anything, so I thought…eh, maybe a fluke.

I needed to do laundry so I went to the bedroom to get some dirty clothes out of this pile on the floor and I smell manure again!!!

FINALLY, I look at this dog blanket we have on the floor…it’s got something on it…EW…cat poop!! Then I get a flashlight and look under the bed…NASTY CAT POOP!!!!

YUCK!!!

So the blanket is in the wash, the poop is cleaned up, and hopefully my house smells of manure no longer.

That’s my story…aren’t you glad I shared it?? LOL
