Day one of my adventure in Weight Watchers is almost over … and only 5000 more to go. lol
I weighed in and attended my first meeting last night and it was better than I guess I expected. I promptly realized that I should have went grocery shopping AFTER the meeting instead of before because I am going to follow the Simple Start program and my usual Special K breakfast sandwich and Chobani FF yogurt is more points than I thought!! There may be days where I need to go to my old stand bys so it’s ok. I could actually make my own breakfast sandwiches later on.
We actually went back to the store tonight and I picked up some things that were recommended at the meeting. I am going to give them a try and see… maybe I’ll be able to add more variety to my meals and won’t get bored.
I said something to the WW leader about how being on WW makes me always have to be thinking about food. She agreed and said that she was already always thinking about it. And ya know, this is totally true for me. I cannot even count the number of times that my husband and I have gotten into some kind of ridiculous argument over dinner and where dinner is coming from or who is picking it up. If I could avoid those stupid arguments by doing a little planning and change my thinking that would be better in the long run.
So it seems the Simple Start program is a lot like the old Core program. I liked the Core program although I got sick of eating the same things. I couscoused myself to death last time!! I will try to be more adventurous this time! My tastes have definitely changed.
I am going to attempt to make cabbage soup this weekend. My husband is away at a tattoo convention in Columbus, OH so I am like one of those hunter widows whose husbands go off to hunt and leave them alone. I am a tattoo convention widow. Lol I don’t mind though!
I can make stinky cabbage soup to my heart’s content.
I’m using this recipe for the cabbage soup but tweaking it a bit. I’m adding cauliflower and maybe some broccoli. I am hoping it comes out good. I may take some photos and post them!
I also made this dip using store brand plain Greek yogurt and Hidden Valley Dill dip mix. OMG it’s delicious!!! I was dipping carrots and celery in it. Tomorrow though, I am putting it on a sandwich with a chicken breast and cucumbers and probably lettuce or maybe some of that shredded salad stuff that comes in a bag… I think it’s broccoli, carrots and cabbage maybe?
See… thinking about food. Planning meals. It’s going to be a lot of thinking about food.
I promise that I will not write every blog entry about WW and food but there (hopefully) will be at least one a week. Not sure what I’ll focus on – maybe recipes I tried and how my weigh in went.
Till next time…
