Look who’s ahead of schedule and posting their “One Little Word” post for 2016 before 2016 even begins!
Unfortunately, I have not been posting as often as I would like, or even at all since like, July I believe.
Life…it kicks you in the balls sometimes. Sorry, but it does….and that shit will bring you straight to your knees. Every. Fricking. Time.
In 2015, I had chosen the word “GROW” as my word for the year. Honestly, I felt like I focused on my word for most of the year but then spent the rest of the year wanting to be curled up in a ball in my bed. I had good intentions. Really, I did. But life man…right in the balls.
You can read about my 2015 One Little Word here. And…if you are interested, my 2014 word was “SHINE” and you can read about that here.
So, 2016 is on the horizon and I’ve got some time off of work and have had time to think about my word for 2016. Like this year, one word keeps popping up in my head and heart:
My One Little Word for 2016 is HOPE.
Before I go into the definition and synonyms of my word, let me explain the symbol. In 2014, the symbol I associated with my OLW, Shine, was a star. In 2015, with Grow, it was going to be like a family tree or flowers. In 2016, for Hope, my symbol is going to be an anchor. Now I am not a Nautical deco type of girl, but there is a quote…which I will get to below…that explains it.
***********************************************
hope \ˈhōp\
: to desire especially with expectation that the wish will be granted
: a particular instance of this feeling
: to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence
: to believe, desire, or trust
: to believe in the future occurrence of (something)
Synonyms: anticipate, await, watch (for)
************************************************
I picked the anchor because I ran across this verse: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19
I decided that my symbol would be an anchor with the word being HOPE. I truly have hope that 2016 will be better than 2015…in every way. 2015 kicked my ass and I need to get myself back together. I have a Pinterest Board devoted to my OLW as well this year. Click here to check it out. If interested, click for 2015, and 2014 Pinterest OLW boards also.
Here are some other hope related goodies I found online.
