Introducing…. <drumroll> Dasher!
Dasher came into our lives on Christmas eve. He’s a rescue who has worked his way into our heart and homes.
Let me tell you though…having a puppy is a lot of WORK!! I had forgotten everything that is involved.
He was basically potty trained when we got him, although we have had a lot of accidents in the house.
Winter is not an ideal time to get a puppy in Michigan!
Plus he is a short haired dog and we are used to longer fluffier dogs, so he spent the first couple months in sweaters. Poor thing. The photo below is a younger Dash.
Because of his breed – which we don’t know of for sure, but suspect him to have some Pit Bull and/or Boxer in him- we have been trying to take him to pet stores frequently to socialize him with people, other dogs, etc. I am pretty sure he falls in the Bully breed spectrum and we want to make sure he is a good, friendly dog. He needs formal training, or WE actually need the training, and he’s teething like a mother effer! He gets so mad when you say, “No!” to him…it’s too funny.
But puppies…. a LOT of work!
Expect many tales of Dasher to come… see what I did there? LOL I expect this experience to be an adventure.
Happy Easter from the Mitten and Dasher!!
Search #dasherthepup on Instagram to see Dash’s latest photos. I need to get some videos of him as well!
